THE VICAR’S VOICE
Anglicans: The church of the ‘process’
It has been two summers now since the election of Gene Robinson as Bishop of New Hampshire was approved at General Convention—first by the House of Deputies and then by the House of Bishops. The actual approval happened when we were on vacation in Oregon. As we made our way home two summers ago, I knew that this was going to be a big issue at my parish. Like many churches across the country my former parish, St. Timothy’s in Apple Valley, was really a mixed bag of people, and so the reaction to this election was going to be mixed as well.
The garden between the church and the administration building, now being called the Triangle Garden, is being made over.

PURLS OF WISDOM FROM THE SHAWL SHAHS
Crochet challenged? You won’t be, after this
Do you know how to crochet, or would you like to learn? Several people have expressed an interest in learning how to crochet after seeing a few of us crocheting prayer shawls during Lent. On Monday, March 14th, several of us are gathering in the family room to visit and crochet. If you would like to learn, come between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. and we will help you get started! All ages are welcome.

Saint Andrew’s Singles—and their friends—visit the Aquarium of the Pacific on March 12. Families welcome!
March 12th is the date for the Saint Andrew’s Singles to visit the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
An egg-stravaganza on the 26th
Children of all ages are invited to an egg-dyeing workshop on Holy Saturday, March 26. Show up in the Family Room at 11 a.m. with a dozen definitely hard-boiled eggs. Also bring a good, old-fashioned cardboard carton for drying the eggs. Styrofoam doesn’t work! (The Bunny will pick up the eggs for Sunday morning delivery here at Saint Andrew’s.)
REPAIRS & REPARATIONS
Patching the leaks, restoring toppled trees
Since the recent rains, we have had several leaks in the church. One of two major leaks is located on the roof, close to the skylight. The other is next to the men’s restroom in the office that is used by the Korean church as a storeroom; water leaked through the wall and onto the carpet as far away as the narthex.

Do you want to learn more about being a B.C. member? Are you interested in becoming a spiritual elder? Or would you like to discern your spiritual gifts or try centering prayer?
Midweek Bible Study/Eucharist on Wednesdays
At 11 a.m. on Wednesday mornings, join Peter and other Saint Andrew’s parishioners for a midweek Bible Study, held in the Conference Room upstairs in the Administration Building. Following the Bible Study, at noon, the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated.
