GET READY! Minnesota high school choirs, 100 strong, to sing. We'll host a reception, too. | Palm Sunday brings music, hospitality

Two choirs from a high school in the Anoka-Hennepin school district in Minnesota are coming to Saint Andrew’s on Palm Sunday, March 20th, at the 10 o’clock service. The director of the choirs, Ken Jenson, is Ellen Quandahl’s brother-in-law. He will be bringing a mixed chorus of 50 voices, and a women’s chorus of 50 voices. They will have performed in Los Angeles the day before, and will be going to another performance later on that afternoon.

As of this writing, not all of the music has been selected, but it ranges from a setting of “Exultate justi in Domino” by Lodovico da Viadana, to an African song about the Passion, “Vamuvamba.”

There will be a potluck reception following the 10 a.m. service to honor the chorus members, so please bring plenty—and we mean plenty!—of food to share.
