THE VICAR’S VOICE
Gratitude for Holy Week, Easter
I greet you this Easter Season with much joy and hope. I have to tell you that this past Holy Week was an incredible experience for me. Palm Sunday was so powerful with the two choirs from Minnesota, and I was especially proud that there were more of us than them. The solemn tone of the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services enabled us to go where we needed to be, both spiritually and emotionally. From there we went to the joy that is embedded in the liturgies of the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday.
Saint Andrew’s played host to two high school choirs from Champlin Park High School in Champlin, Minn., on Palm Sunday.
Celebrate God’s creation at ‘Mass on the Grass’
Fair is the moonlight, fairer still the sunshine... Earth Day is April 22, and the following Sunday, April 24, is the date for Saint Andrew’s annual Mass on the Grass. On this morning, the 10 a.m. service moves outdoors to celebrate the beauty of the natural world with special music, readings and liturgy.

Bishop recovering from successful surgery
The Rt. Rev. J. Jon Bruno, Bishop of Los Angeles, underwent surgery on Tuesday, March 29, in which his left foot and ankle were amputated in order to stop a persistent staph infection that has not responded to several months of treatment with antibiotics. The infection had settled in the bones of the foot, an area that medication was not able to reach.
REPAIRS & REPARATIONS
Willow, carob join tree lineup
The Triangle Garden area has new lawn and a new carob tree, bringing a whole new look to the church site. Additionally, a willow tree has been planted to replace the one uprooted by the recent winds. A small improvement, yes . . . so let the willow tree grow along with our church family.
Anglican Communion 101
What, exactly, is the Anglican Communion, and how does it work? Here’s one attempt to provide some answers.
To my surprise, many of you have asked me questions about the latest developments in the Episcopal Church. This surprises me because—if I am to believe my adult children—only a tiny handful of people in the entire universe are interested in the church in general and the Episcopal Church in particular.
