HABITAT UPDATE | Busy building season holds challenge

Spring is in the air. It’s our favorite season, with its natural beauty and signs of hope. Spring also marks the beginning of our busy building season and our biggest challenge. At Habitat for Humanity, we face a secret crisis every spring. It’s not a lack of volunteers. It’s certainly not a lack of deserving families. It’s a lack of funding. Your donation can do so much to make this building season a success. We are calling on you because we need your help now—more than ever. Help us deliver hope to a deserving family with a gift of love today. To make a donation, please go to http://www.habitat.org, and click “Donate Online,” or donate by mail with the Mail-In Donation Form. Copies are in the Narthex.

‘Women Build’ set for Huntington Beach in May

Women Build 2005 is official! Our third Habitat for Humanity Women Build is scheduled to begin in Huntington Beach in May, but we need you now. We will be holding a Women Build Training Day Open House on Saturday, April 23, located at Experian (475 Anton Blvd, Costa Mesa), from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and is free to the public. We will be looking to recruit women to help with our upcoming house, and we will have booths with demonstrations in general construction, including topics such as power tools, measuring, hammers, etc. Please attend the Training Day if you are interested in helping Women Build!

If you can’t make the Training Day, we still need your help! Please contact us at womenbuild@habitatoc.org or leave a message for Jill Lawrence at 714.434.6200, ext.766. We need help in areas such as hospitality, public relations, donations, etc. Or if you can’t make the Training Day but you want to help build, please keep checking the website (http://www.habitatoc.org) for updates on our official ground-breaking date!
