Repairs & Reparations | Russ Hedman | 15 hands make light work of April 9's Work Day

April brings great weather to Irvine. It also brought a great work day and about 15 people who brought their tools and talents to help out on April 9. Much was accomplished in the three hours we gathered to work.

The small shed in the back of the parking lot was emptied and dismantled, meaning we recouped some lost parking spaces. One of the two large pews at the back of the church had very bad sun damage to the upholstery. Carolyn Ybarra spearheaded the effort to take material from an unused kneeler and make repairs to the seat of the damaged pew. Many thanks go to Carolyn and to all who helped with this project.

Additionally, many volunteers worked to clear the landscape from the raised garden beside the kiosk. A small ditch was made in preparation for future drainage work. Lastly, a wooden fence and a metal fence were removed from two locations on the property.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the work day. We could not have done it without you! Please join us for our next work day on Saturday, June 11th. We look forward to seeing you then!
