April 2003April 27 marks Fair is the moonlight, fairer still the sunshine... Earth Day is April 22, and the following Sunday, April 27, is the date for Saint Andrew’s annual Mass on the Grass. On this morning, the 10 a.m. service moves outdoors to celebrate the beauty of the natural world with special music, readings and liturgy. The worship space itself will be filled with flowers from our own gardens, so please bring an armful of your favorite blossoms along with lawn chairs, umbrellas, and sunscreen. A picnic lunch follows, so everyone is invited to put on play clothes and pack a basket too (tofu and bean sprouts optional). Friends and neighbors are welcome to share with Saint Andrew’s this day of respect and gratitude for the earth. |
