‘Ground blessing’
at Westminster Habitat work site
set for Sept. 13

The congregations of Deaneries 9 and 10 will begin a Habitat for Humanity house-building project in Orange County with a “Ground Blessing” on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 a.m. at the corner of Westminster Blvd. and Edwards Ave. in the city of Westminster. All are welcome to attend. The deaneries also need 10 volunteer workers each Saturday for the duration of the building project (which will take around 10-11 months to complete). No experience is necessary. You can participate by doing the heavy lifting, or painting, or drilling, or even by cooking meals for the builders or by being in the “geezer brigade.” However you can help, it is greatly appreciated.

Al Mosk has been ably leading the Habitat for Humanity team here at Saint Andrew’s, but his other duties with the B.C., stewardship, and the North Room renovations mean that he has to reluctantly relinquish his post as the “point person” for Habitat. If you feel you are called to be the one to shepherd those “willing to wield”—be it paintbrush, hammer, or carpet-tack stapler—contact Al at pamosk2@aol.com, and indicate your willingness. Deaneries 9 and 10 have raised $80,000 toward their financial commitment of $100,000, much of it during a work day in March.
