Progress afoot in
the North Room
RENOVATION Look, Mano carpet!
The Bishop’s Committee of Saint Andrew's would like to give a short update on the progress of work in the North Room. As of Sunday Sept. 28, we have stripped down the floor, removed and relocated the previous cabinets and applied the first coats of floor finish. Sunrise Sobriety has also provided wonderful support and help with this project, providing the 60 new folding chairs, the manual labor to remove the cabinets, and additional assistance.
Participation has been good during these first stages of work. We hope that once the congregation views the already dramatic change for the better in this facility of our church, it will get even better. Thanks to all of those who have put so much of their effort into this. We have raised close to $6300, including donations from Penuma Chapel (the Korean church) and Sunrise Sobriety.
We still have many things to do: paint the walls, install cabinets (with a sink), add windows to the exterior doors, repair the ceiling tiles, and let’s not forget to add those little personal touches that give so much character to a handcrafted project. As this work continues take a moment to examine the progress that has been made and imagine the finished product. It will really be something good for fellowship, outreach, and/or enjoyment.”
