Throughout the year we focus on needs of local, national and international organizations and individuals. These include (but are not limited to) ministries to the poor, the elderly, the homeless, those affected by natural disasters, college students and families with small children. We support a variety of organizations including Families Forward, Habitat for Humanity, Episcopal Relief and Development, Camp Stevens, Americas Children and United Thank Offering. We have an annual Alternative Christmas Market which supports artisans from South America and Africa. We also support low income Children's Center families with an Adopt-a-Family Christmas program.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets as a group to knit and crochet prayer shawls and baby blankets. The finished items are blessed and offered to those in need of comfort and newborns. Experienced members of the group offer instruction for those wishing assistance, so no advanced skills are necessary. Enthusiasm and a wish to bring comfort, warmth and peace to someone in need are the only requirements.
